Fund Implementation of Website Accessibility Tools

Aim: Raise funds to implement a Recite Me accessibility assistive toolbar to our website (for one year) to create an inclusive online experience

New Futures Nepal focuses on supporting disadvantaged children and adults in Nepal. To do this, we raise funds to support initiatives promoting health, education, and independence, with a particular focus on the social integration of children with disabilities and empowering the people of Nepal. 

Access to resources, services, and information for all is something we are mindful of in all the work we do. We work dilagently with our partners to make sure that our projects are as inclusive as possible. As such, we believe that our website should reflect this approach, and so we are seeking your help to implement accessibility tools on our website to offer customisable experiences to our audience.

The accessibility assistive toolbar provided by Recite Me allows users to make use of features which include:

• Text to speech (TTS)
• Translation
• Website styling and customisation
• Reading aids

Provision of these features will create a more digitally inclusive experience for our audience and will be especially beneficial to neurodivergent individuals and those with visual impairment. It will also give people who do not speak English as a first language access to the information on our website and significantly increase the number of people we reach. The Nepali translation feature will also allow us to more effectively communicate and share information with our Nepali partners and friends.

Your support will allow us to implement these tools for one year, giving us the chance to review their effectiveness and consider their use on a permanent basis.
