Hiya, my name is Hillary and I am looking for your support to fund my first professional music video, for my latest single ‘The 3rd’.
Who is she ?
I am a singer-songwriter influenced by Jazz and Soul, at the beginning of my artist journey (lowkey exciting and f****ing scary lol).
For me, music is a spiritual thread that ties communities together. Growing up in the church, gospel music was very much my introduction to being a singer, and today, the London jazz scene has been an important space for me to experiment and play. I have not been formally educated in music, due to barriers around class, race and neurodivergence and am pursuing my artistry in my own way #punk.
2024, was tough, as I lost my aunt to domestic violence and had to deal with so much grief as well as an ongoing court case.
As an unsigned - working class artist, financing your career is challenging. Unfortunately, like many artists, my latest single doesn’t make money. I’ve been blessed to have friends and fans support my latest single The 3rd via bandcamp. A ⅓ of the sales have gone to sistah space and have helped to cover the cost of making and performing my music with my band (which many times puts me out of pocket).
How can you help me ?
I am very proud of my track The 3rd (check it out lol!) and as little as a quid could help me in my journey to giving this song and my wonderful bandmates the visuals and platform I believe it deserves (my band really did their ting!)
I have an amazing music video team all ready to go… including the incredible director Lauren Gee - now all I need is the £ to pay them. Your donations will go to crew fees, a studio and camera and lighting!
I strongly believe in paying people properly, and in acknowledging that and my own relative funds at the moment I am launching this fundraiser so everyone can eat and no one is out of pocket!
