Aim

We are hoping to hit the target of £10,000 to begin the journey of creating the wonderful LGBTQ+ short film FULL FAT

THE FILM:

“Grace and Bels live together, do everything together, have slept together, but Grace is queer, and Bels is not, so when faced with Bels’s new boyfriend, how long before she loses it?”

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT:

"This film explores the complex intersection of desire, curiosity, and exploitation when straight girls experiment

sexually with queer girls. At its core, it’s about the collision between the search for identity and belonging, and the fleeting curiosity shaped by societal expectations.

It’s not just about sexual experimentation—it’s about the emotional aftermath often left unspoken. For queer characters, their queerness isn’t an experiment, but their truth. When reduced to something to be discarded, it leaves deep scars, especially when inflicted by a close friend.

The film highlights the emotional toll on both sides: for the straight girl, it may be a journey of self-discovery, while for the queer girl, it often means being used and left to handle the fallout alone. It’s not about condemning curiosity but recognising the responsibility behind it.

The damage is subtle but lingers, felt in the silences and the aftermath, where one person moves on while the other struggles to rebuild their sense of self. Through intimate storytelling, this film opens conversations about the ethical dimensions of sexual exploration and its impact on marginalised identities.

This story is personal yet universal—an exploration of the weight of our actions and their unseen repercussions. My hope is that it serves as a space for reflection, empathy, and healing." - Louisa Connolly-Burnham
