Please consider giving a little something in return for your daily walk or run at the cemetery park, or your no-longer-commuting fare.
Realistically, we face an income gap of £40k. That's around £25-30k in bookings from company volunteering, and £10-15k from events such as walks, courses and Forest School.
The more money we raise, the longer the Friends can keep existing without our usual sources of donations!
Did you know that The Friends of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park manage and care for Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park?
The Friends are facing a huge challenge created by the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak, as we begin to understand its impacts on all areas of the charity. We are experiencing a massive loss of around £40,000 in income as we cancel events for the foreseeable future, and businesses cancel their company volunteering days with us.
Our income enables us to care for and protect Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park and other green spaces we work in across Tower Hamlets, such as Shandy Park and Swedenborg Gardens. It ensures we can pay our three full-time members of staff, provide tools and equipment to volunteers who help us care for the parks, and ensures we have resources to deliver events to the community.
Access to green space is going to be so important for our wellbeing once COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. Until then, to ensure Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park is ready to welcome the community back, to engage with local nature, history and each other, our small team of full-time staff are working to maintain the park and plan for the future.
Please look after yourselves and your community,
Thank you from all of us at the Friends!
Michelle, Suzanna, Ken, and all trustees and volunteers.
We ask project owners to honour their rewards wherever possible but please note that all pledges are donations and there is no guarantee that you will receive any rewards from the project owner. Please see Crowdfunder's Terms of Use for more information regarding rewards for pledges.
