Help Save The Elm Tree Inn

We’ve been on a mission to bring The Elm Tree Inn in Langton Herring into community ownership and make it the heart of our village once again. With your support, we can reopen its doors for locals and visitors alike, creating a welcoming space for all.

Our Goal

We  purchased the Elm Tree Inn on the 23 May 2025 , however due to the enforced short timescale we had to work within, we took out £160k of loans which we want to repay as soon as possible. We are hoping to open the Elm Tree In in July 2025, restoring the pub to its former glory as a vibrant hub for our community. Every donation helps us get one step closer to this aim. We’re also accepting investment in the form of community shares to help us reach our target. If you’re interested, you can invest here. 

Why It Matters

The Elm Tree Inn has been part of Langton Herring’s story since the 18th century. Over the years, it’s been a cosy spot for locals, walkers, bird watchers, and families. From its snug wood-burning stoves in winter to its beautiful garden in summer, it’s a place for everyone to connect, relax, and enjoy.

By saving the Elm Tree, we’ll be creating a space for:

• Locals to meet and socialise.
• Walkers and cyclists to rest and recharge.
• Families and dog walkers to find comfort and companionship.

• Securing the freehold of the pub.
• Supporting community ownership so that decisions are made with the heart of the village in mind.
