Aim

We want to fundraise to build a 2-lane net facility so we have enough training space to accommodate all Senior, Junior and Ladies teams.

Who are we?

Frickley CWCC is a community cricket club based in the heart of the ex-coal mining community of South Elmsall/Frickley. The club was formed in 1903 as a community benefit by the Carlton Main Colliery Company to support the employees at Frickley Colliery. 122 years later the club has grown from strength to strength as a cricket club and community hub, now having over 100 members, including 40+ seniors, 50+ juniors and 20 ladies who are all involved with the cricket and also hosts weekly sessions with Andys Man Club which is a fantastic group.

Frickley CWCC is a family friendly club and is welcome to any new members or anyone who wants to give cricket a go, no matter what.

Why are we crowdfunding?

We are Crowdfunding to raise money to allow us to move ahead with the construction of a two-lane outdoor training facility at the club. The club has grown exponentially over the past 6 years and we are now in a position where unless we upgrade the capacity of our training facilities, we will not be able to offer the level of training/coaching to all age groups and players that is necessary to provide opportunity for local people who want to get involved in cricket. If we are successful with this Crowdfund project, we will be able to provide this and future proof the club as it carries on expanding and offering more opportunities to the community.

How we’ll spend the money raised

The money raised will be combined with various grants to be able to fully pay for the construction of the facility as quoted for. To raise the target will mean we can move forward with the minimum specification. If we exceed this, we will be able to construct at a higher specification, therefore making the facility better for users.

Community impact

The community impact will be noticeable as Frickley CWCC will not only be able to continue to run 4 senior cricket sides, 4 junior cricket sides and our Ladies section, but we will be able to further expand and offer the training facilities for more new players of all ages and genders in the area as we will have the capacity to do this.

How you can play your part

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.

1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!

2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get. Spreading the word on social media or through word of mouth is  a great way to support us and doing so is a free route into our prize draw. You can enter our prize draw for free through posting us your details and what you have done to spread the word to Frickley Colliery Welfare Cricket Club, Westfield Lane, South Elmsall, WF9 2EQ.

3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!

4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!

5. Prize Draw Terms and Conditions

1. Anyone over the age of 18 from a UK address is eligible to enter the prize draw items listed in the "Rewards" section when donating.

2. Users can enter the draw via a donation to the Crowdfunder (please see the rewards section of the page) or through our free entry route via sharing via social media/word of mouth which is detailed in the "Spread the word" category above these T's + C's.

b. There is no limit on the amount of entries a participant can make through the donation route, however we must limit the free route to 1 entry per participant.

3. This prize draw is promoted by Matthew Pinder on behalf of Frickley CWCC for the sole benefit of its Crowdfunder campaign.

4. The start date of the competition is the 31st July and closes 12th September.
