To continue funding the campaign for Sarah and making sure she is supported as well\...
Our aim is to raise funds to support Sarah through prison, to support her partner and to help fund the campaign organising to free her.
On July 12th, Sarah Jane Baker was arrested at her home following a speech that she made at Trans Pride. She was charged with section 4a of the Public Order Act and is set to be on trial for this later in the year. She has been recalled to prison, to serve the remainder of a life sentence, after being originally told by the probation service and the MET police that she would not be recalled for a passing statement that was made. It is not a coincidence that she was arrested after Suella Braverman tweeted to apply pressure saying "i'm sure the police will consider the evidence carefully".
Sarah's case is a concern for all who believe in freedom of speech. The response from the police, probation and the CPS to her comment is disproportionate and reflects the systemic transphobia and silencing of left wing activists.
Funds will go to Sarah in prison and supporting her through it, to her partner to help with costs and to help with campaign costs.
