Free Family Film Festival

After last year's forced hiatus we are delighted to announce the return of our Free Film Festival for local children and families.  This annual event celebrates our wonderful community and all things cinematic including creative workshops, stories,  arts & crafts activities and, of course, a great line-up of films.

Inclusivity and diversity are key and our programme of films and events will reflect the community that we live in. Our venue for the day is the fabulous Beckenham Place Park Mansion which stands in a beautiful landscape of meadows and woodland and provides a safe space for families to come together to share in fun activities with family and friends.

What we'll deliver:

• An inclusive and accessible event for all local children and young people, their family and friends.
• Creative activities for children and parents to work on together.
• Workshops in vlogging/presenting/acting with recording studio and voice agency Loquatious Media (ticketed)
• Animation workshops
• Special Effects Make-Up workshop with Festival partner Monster Academy (ticketed)
• Food market with delicacies from across the globe.
• Storytelling with music
• Volunteering opportunities and skills development for young people.
• Free entry for local children and families.
• And films!!

Who will make it happen?

We have been running film events in the Bromley/Lewisham area since 2015 and have organised three previous Family Film Festivals at Beckenham Place Park Mansion to great success.  Our website has information about all our local and online events.  

We are again partnering with South East London’s ‘Free Film Festivals’ who provide logistical support to ensure the smooth running of the event.  Beckenham Place Park Mansion is fully supporting our event and providing in kind contributions.  We recently changed our name from 'Bromley Family Film Club' to 'Small World Cinema' but our team has remained the same!

Why it's a great idea:

As we are emerging from this global pandemic we are all yearning for opportunities to get together and to spend some care-free time with our children and friends.  

With this festival we want to share our passion for cinema with children and young people from across the borough and bring people together to enjoy great movies and celebrate culture in all forms.

Our choice of films will speak to families from all backgrounds and nationalities and provide a perfect introduction to our Small World Cinema programme this coming year.  By incorporating workshops, creative activities, food and films we will create a fun and unique experience to suit all ages and abilities.

We need YOU:

With our regular funding avenues severely restricted this year we are relying on sponsorship and donations to make the Festival happen.  Our team of volunteers are ready to put in the work and create another memorable event but we need your help!  The MORE funds we raise, the MORE activities we can organise for you and your children.
