Rae rae will be taking her first steps to raise money for The Carter Trust. They have enabled her to have a specialist wheelchair pushchair.
Our Ultra Rare Rae-Rae
Frankie-Rae was born with microdeletion syndrome 17p13.1
This means that she has global development delay, hyper mobility. She has an unanswered liver issue that she has to have an upcoming biopsy for and she suffers with recurrent UTI’s.
She could be Non-verbal or have restricted speech, she may not be able to ever walk or if she does then it could have to be aided. But fortunately she is extremely strong willed and in the past week has been trying to take a few steps. She’s gets very annoyed with her self that she takes a few steps and then her feet or knees give way. But despite this she keeps persisting in trying.
In the past month an amazing charity Called The Andrew and Catherine Carter Trust have enable us to get a specialised wheelchair/pushchair and home stand For Frankie-Rae. This has been amazing for us as a family, it will give Rae so many more opportunities and will increase her social skills aswell. We as a family are now fundraising to give as much back to the amazing charity as possible with many up and coming events and our eldest daughter who is 8 has been making and selling loom band bracelets to raise money and has so far raised £159! So now it’s Frankie-Rae’s turn to fundraise -
To help her with practicing her steps and strengthen her legs and feet she will will be doing a First Steps to success fundraiser! This will run over the next 4 weeks and we will post videos or updates regularly to let everyone know how well she is doing each day.
We would be so so grateful if any of you could support her with a donation.
