The charity exists to promote constructive dialogue and better understanding between Britain and France and to contribute to the development of joint action through bringing together leading representatives of the worlds of culture, politics, defence, energy and climate change, science, education and business. It does this through four main programmes: Young Leaders, Local Leaders, Defence and Entente Cordiale.

The Franco- British Council brings together young people from both countries to give future British and French leaders an opportunity to deepen mutual understanding and create the networks to ensure that Franco-British cooperation continues for the next generation. Our programmes like Young Leaders, Local Leaders and Entente Cordiale allows for mobility and friendship between young people in both countries to create long-standing links.
We receive some Government funding for core costs but we want to do more to build this important network. Extra funding will allow us to help more students study abroad or to recruit more Young Leaders and Local Leaders, and to hold more Franco-British events.
We want to build a strong Franco-British relationship based on good connections and ready for a bright future.
