New stretch target

Thanks to your incredible support, we’ve hit our original target — and now we’re aiming to stretch to £10,000 to give the club even more room to grow.

We’re especially grateful to Sport England, whose generous £2,558 pledge matched half our original goal — helping us reach it faster and with more impact.

This additional funding will help:

• Fully cover the costs of the net cage, roller upgrade, and astro-matting

• Create a contingency fund for future essential maintenance and equipment

• Support additional improvements, such as gazebos for shelter and events

• And, if we go beyond expectations, contribute towards longer-term ambitions — such as a digital scoreboard

Every extra pound now strengthens the club for the seasons ahead.

Who are we?

Fonthill Park Cricket Club has been a cornerstone of our community for years, fostering a love for cricket among players of all ages and backgrounds. Our club prides itself on inclusivity, sportsmanship, and developing local talent. We offer opportunities for juniors, competitive matches for seniors, and social events that bring everyone together.

Why are we crowdfunding?

To continue providing excellent facilities and opportunities, we need to raise funds for essential upgrades. Specifically, we're aiming to:

Upgrade our roller to maintain our pitch in top condition.
Purchase a new net cage and astro matting for player training and development.
Upgrade and replace ground maintenance machinery.

These improvements will enhance the playing experience and ensure the safety and development of our members.

How we’ll spend the money raised

Here's a breakdown of how we plan to allocate the funds:

Roller Upgrade: £2,500
Mobile Net Cage: £1,500
Training Surface: £1,500
Spring Stumps: £200

Any additional funds will be directed towards improving and developing our facilities for future generations of cricketers.

Community impact

Our club isn't just about cricket; it's about community. We provide a safe and supportive environment for young people, promote physical health, and encourage teamwork. Our facilities are also used by local families, schools and community groups, making it a hub for various activities beyond cricket.
