Foxes - An animal horror film.

They’re Not Just in the Hen House Anymore

Foxes are shy, timid creatures, most likely to flee on the mere sight of a human...which makes the incidents of one summer night in London 2023 all the more shocking.

The Story

Natasha & Richard are a young couple trying to get by in the capital. Like so many, they are victims of the over inflated property market and are considering relocating in search of a cheaper day to day life. Their struggle for survival becomes somewhat more literal when one night, whilst dining with some wealthy acquaintances, the city’s urban fox population turns vicious. The animals no longer hide from their human co-habitants; they see them as prey and savage attacks suddenly erupt throughout the streets of London.

The Pitch

My name is Gregory Fishwick. I’m a writer/director and this is 301 Pictures’ latest project; “Foxes.”

Our movie is in the vein of the great animal horrors of the past – the classics such as The Birds, Jaws and Piranha as well as some of the more grindhouse-esque b-movies; think Frogs, Nightwing and Bug. The animal horror has proven to still be popular today, as evidenced by the success of the likes of Crawl, The Shallows, 47 Meters Down and Beast; we’re excited to thrill audiences with the first “tail” of bloodthirsty foxes!

The script is witty but not irreverent. We are committed to the horror of the piece and do not treat the eccentric premise lightly. The film will be eerie and tense and while the notion of foxes embarking on a bloody rampage is entirely fictional, the story is rooted in reality, largely through a political subtext. Natasha and Richard are emblematic of so many in the modern world – regular folk trying to make ends meet in an environment of sky high rents and a cost of living crisis. What is left of a city if people are driven out of it, whether it be by extortionate prices or wild animals?

Just like the furry protagonists of animal horrors, political concerns have long played a part in movies of the macabre and have also proven to still be relevant to modern audiences as we can see with the likes of the phenomenally successful Purge franchise and the films of Jordan Peele.

The Concept

Foxes: a creature feature rooted in a relatable story of today, one that will provoke thought and induce shivers – we can’t wait to share our vision with the world and we’re asking for your help to make it happen. Below is a breakdown of where the money will be spent.

Skills, talent, equipment, locations, make up...foxes(!), there are many components to a film and all have their cost. We want to be able to utilize the best of everything in order to do justice to a great script and make the most satisfying and enjoyable viewing experience possible. By giving what you can and supporting our production, you will be helping us make this a reality.
