Dear friends I wish to meet & exceed my target of £600 to volunteer and donate to the only open refugee camp of Lesvos, Greece. Thank you
I am in Lesvos, Greece since the 15th of July volunteering in the only Lesvos camp that is looking after vulnerable refugees, run almost entirely by volunteers. So far I have been busy with ad-hoc work, admin and graphics, from cleaning, to news letters and advertising material for the lovely bags workshop they re running to help the refugees back on working.
A couple of days ago I began making a short video that introduces the camp, and yesterday I made a birthday cake for a sweet 15year old refugee boy :)
My original intention for this fundraising project was to finance my trip, but my wish changed soon after my first days on the island when I experienced first hand how much work is being put in the camp by all the volunteers and how much financial help they could do with.
I work long hours and my personal expenses are transport, accomodation and food.
The camp runs 24/7 and its basic running expenses are bills (electricity, water, phone and internet), food, medications and clothing among many others.
My current wish is to meet and exceed my target to be able to make a donation to the camp, so please be generous, any help will result in another need being met.
