To help fund a 2 year project that will provide fun, engaging family learning opportunities to families in the High Peak

Please help us fund our programme FOR THE LOVE OF BOOKS. It's all about inspiring creativity in early years nurseries across the High Peak - those in Gamesley (Glossop), Ollersett (New Mills) and Fairfield (Buxton.)
Here at High Peak Community Arts, we have over 38 years of experience of delivering high quality creative opportunities to people of all ages and abilities, particularly to those who do not usually have access to them.
Our pilot project with these nurseries showed the positive power of the arts to inspire and uplift. Developing creativity early builds confidence and resilience for children, and there is a knock-on effect of supporting the building blocks for learning.
The Ragdoll Foundation have agreed to fund more work for this project, but on condition that we raise £5000 from other sources. That's where you come in! We have a commitment of £1666 from local county council funds and other applications pending, but we need a minimum of £1200 more to be able to run any of this programme at all.
'For the Love of Books' will involve professional artists working with early years nurseries using books and the arts to inspire a variety of fun, engaging, 'hands on' learning sessions for families. The project will include CPD (training) for early years staff, so that creative techniques can become part of their everyday practice. The project will ignite participants' imagination, develop their love of books, increase literacy levels in the under fives and promote stronger familial bonds as parents learn with their children.
The residential estates where For The Love of Books will run have little access to the arts. Research shows that the earliest experiences are often only available to affluent families who can travel to nearby cities. This access continues to form a pattern as young people get older, contributing to narrower expectations for those excluded from early experiences.
Please help us to bring these high quality activities into the High Peak and start a lifelong passion!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
