FORSA is run by a friendly bunch of enthusiastic parents, grandparents and teachers. Our purpose is to raise funds for Roydon Primary School (Essex) to enrich our children's learning, both inside and outside of the classroom.
Members of FORSA are constantly working hard behind the scenes to raise money to provide fun and educational experiences for the children and additional equipment for the school. Activities include our Christmas Bazaar and Christmas lights event (in collaboration with David Davidson), quiz nights, non-uniform and break the rules days, school discos and celebration picnics.
Over the last few years, FORSA has purchased a writing shed for the reception playground, funded a drumming workshop for every class, financed Enterprise Day, supported the installation of the sensory garden, subsidised the whole school panto trip at Christmas, bought the pirate ship in the main playground, organised a Christmas disco for the children and provided kit for the Cheerleading team. We are currently looking to buy a reading/library shed for the main playground.
Other regular purchases and gifts include uniform ties for the new year 6's, a contribution to the outgoing year 6's leaving trip, Christmas and Easter treats for every child, gifting a book to each child in the new reception cohorts and much more!
FORSA also supports the school in other ways too, for example we provide teas and coffees at the nativity and have also set up an Amazon Wishlist for those extra, nice to have items, for the classroom.
Our biggest "payday" usually comes from our Christmas event. We are grateful for an additional support throughout the year, to enable us to keep enriching the education of our children with bigger and better things.
