The story so far……
Market Muir sitting in the shadows of Forfar Athletic’s Station Park, has always been a popular sporting and recreational venue within the town. In 2007 the club secured the lease of an area of the Market Muir from Angus Council – sufficient to allow the club to push on with a most ambitious vision.
After many hours by a dedicated group of volunteers, including financial support from Sportscotland and the Angus Common Good Fund, Forfar Farmington now has an impressive clubhouse base on the south-east corner of the football pitch at Market Muir.
The opening of the new building marked the culmination of an ambitious project which involved a massive fund-raising drive, the sourcing of grant aid, the relocation of a former hospital ward building from the Forfar Infirmary site to the Market Muir, and its transformation in 21st century facilities for use by all those involved in Forfar Farmington Football Club and other groups within the community, such as local running clubs, dancing groups and mens amature football teams.
The original building comprises a spacious clubroom, two changing rooms, shower rooms, a kitchen, and equipment store, together with male, female and disabled toilets. To the front is a timber veranda with a disabled access.
In addition, the Market Muir pitch is floodlit, allowing local football clubs to continue to enjoy their favourite sport when darkness descends.
Sounds great doesn’t it? But something is missing….

What’s next?
We would like to have the addition of dugouts to complete the facility and create a dry area for coaches /players on game days.
This is why our players and coaches would like to see dugouts:
"Makes us look more professional as a club"

"Enhances the match day experience especially for the coaches and subs! "
"Protection for training bags/first aid/equipment required at side of pitch from the rain/wind/cold."

"Would look better than carrying out benches as we have a really nice club house and showers etc"
"Providing shelter/seating for players to keep muscles warm when substituted to prevent injury."
"Allowing shelter for first aid to be administered at pitch side"
So what would they look like?

(3 sections instead of 4 as illustrated)
Who are we?
Our teams range in age from 5 +, having multiple teams in U11, U13, U15, U17, a further Scottish Womans Football League Div 2 Ladies team and the only club to have a team in the Scottish Womens Premier League 1 from the North East Scotland.
