Aim

Help us launch FORE Community: monthly programming and a membership platform built to back overlooked grassroots creatives.

The problem

The creative industry doesn't select on talent. It selects on access. Who you know, whether you can afford to work unpaid, whether someone in the room decides to open a door. For working class creatives, the barrier isn't ability. It never was.

What FORE is

FORE is a creative community built for the people that industry overlooks. Founded in London after our founder left UAL and found nothing designed for someone like him, we stopped waiting to be let in and built our own way through.

Five years, entirely self-funded. 18 events. Over 3,000 people. More than 150 creatives platformed. From a room in London to a takeover in Paris, run by volunteers who believed in it enough to give up their evenings.

What we're building

FORE Community: a permanent home for the work, running on a proper rhythm rather than whenever we can find the time.

  • Monthly flagship sessions, rotating between workshops, webinars and masterclasses. Landing your first paid brief. Pricing your work. Getting into an industry that doesn't advertise its entrances. Taught by people who have actually done it.
  • A resource library of what nobody hands you: freelance starter kits, business plan and tech pack templates, contact lists for studios, manufacturers and venues, grant writing guides.
  • Live opportunities. Paid briefs matched to members through FORE STUDIO. A talent directory putting our community in front of the brands looking for them.
  • Events, on and offline, built to connect people rather than fill a room.

Membership starts at £4 a month. Priced deliberately, so it can't become another barrier.

Why now

Five years of self-funding has taken FORE as far as goodwill can carry it. The facilitators teaching our workshops should be paid for their expertise. The team running this should be valued for their hours. The thing that makes FORE work is also the thing wearing it down.

Where the money goes

£4,444 funds the first season properly:

  • Facilitator fees, so we can book people who know their craft and pay them what it's worth
  • Session production: editing, hosting, streaming
  • Platform and tools to hold the community together at scale
  • Event delivery, so nobody is covering a shortfall out of their own pocket
  • Valuing the team who have carried this for free

Every pound into the programme. None into overheads.

They didn't want us in their spaces, so we built our own. Back this and you're a founding member of it, with your name on the record to prove you were here first.

We are FORE the people. We don't wait fore change, we make it.
