Aim

At the historic St Michael's Church, we want to welcome and support the community, but to do this, we need some toilets.

I am the Team Rector (an oversite vicar) for St Michael's Church, Lyme Regis, which is part of the the Golden Cap Team of Churches in beautiful west Dorset: https://www.goldencapchurches.org/

St Michael's is an iconic historic church, with links to Mary Anning (she worshipped at the church and is buried in its church yard), and rumour has it that Jane Austin also worshipped at the church.

However, the church is not just an historic building, but is a living church seeking to support and serve its local community.

The trustee team at the church have a vision of the church as being a great community venue, by growing its Open Tuesday (tackling loneliness and isolation), and by being able to provide resources such as a Toddler Group.

The church already hosts community music events, but it would be a much more welcoming and accessible venue for more groups, if there were accessible washrooms and toilet facilities on site.

Money raised will go towards making the accessible toilets a reality, for the benefit of Lyme Regis' local community and visitors.
