We aim to provide practical help and guidance to people, families and carers and help them through the dementia journey.

On Sunday 25th September, with the support of The Aviva Community Fund, we held our second dementia awareness football match, which, through the incredible support of Norwich city Football Club, was held at Carrow Road. It was a day we will, hopefully, never forget and has given us a strong foundation to build upon and help people.

Over 1500 people attended the event which was in memory of Paul Chick a former non league manager who sadly passed away from dementia and brought together a team of legends from the Ken Brown, Milk Cup Winning era to face a Paul Chick Allstars team…

We were delighted to be joined by former Norwich City Legend John Deehan, who is living with dementia who began our precession of Young Footballers Against Dementia, holding the name of someone they know who has been affected by the disease to show that dementia can and does affect anyone.

Football Against Dementia is driven from personal experience of my Mum who has had dementia for 8 years. As a family we have worked together through the ups and downs to help Mum have a dignified and fulfilling life. It has been a challenging journey, but we have learnt a lot and hope to be able to share the experience we, and many others have had to help others on the same journey.

Dr. Rupert Talboys

As well as being a keen footballer our Ambassador Doctor Talboys (seen here with our other Ambassador Chris Sutton) will be holding zoom guidance sessions for anyone wanting to attend.
