Aim
To provide a nutritious three-course meal and a warm place to be this winter for people in the local community in Lewisham
FoodCycle Lewisham tackles food waste, hunger and loneliness. Our project founded and managed by local charity Lewisham Local has been serving meals in Catford since 2016. We host between 50-60 guests a week for a nutritious, sit down, three-course meal alongside hosting our partner organisation Catford Fridge who provides additional surplus food bags for our guests to take away.

Why we need your support
The need for food and a place to stay warm during the winter months is increasing, and around one in four households in Lewisham are living in low or very low food security.
Many people are having to decide between the cost of food or fuel to heat their homes, and more and more people in Lewisham are likely to need extra support this winter.
Our project’s funds are running low due to the increase in costs in our rent, food, and supplies while our usual fundraising activities weren’t able to take place due to Covid over the past two years.
We rely on fundraising and wonderful volunteers to keep providing hot meals to people each week.
Please share our winter fundraising campaign and donate if you can to help give hot meals to the community over the winter months. Donations will be matched funds £1 for £1 up to £250 thanks to the Aviva Community Fund Cost-of-Living Boost.
Impact
Last year we served 1889 guests the equivalent of 7,500 meals saving 3 tonnes of food from going to waste.
