Sport England: Active Together has provided £5,000 of match funding
Our income from all sources has declined due to Covid 19. We want to raise £10,000 to help us survive and also attract new members.
Folkestone Cricket Club are a friendly and inclusive based club formed in 1856 and based on the English Channel in Kent. We have approximately 150 members ranging from 6 years old to adults.
We are a well known and valued part of the local community and we believe that cricket can help children to develop their personal, social and physical skills.
We aim to give all children the opportunity to play, learn and develop through cricket.
Coronavirus - has had a big impact on Folkestone Cricket Club: all of our planned senior league matches have been cancelled resulting in a big loss on the fees we take from these games - this has been a truly difficult time!

We hope to replace them with something like this which offers advertisement opportunities to local businesses!

We are applying for Sport England 'Active Together' matchfunding. If successful Sport England will add the monies raised to make our total even bigger! This will mean that any donations are worth more to us when donated through this Crowdfunder - so please do help us if you can!
Folkestone Cricket Club has the full support and backing of the Folkestone Town Council and many local businesses in the area.
As part of our commitment to the community we have been providing free 8 week coaching sessions to junior schools for the past ten years.
This culminates in 16 Primary School teams enjoying a day of Kwik Cricket and friendly competition at Three Hills which is welcomed by pupils and teachers alike after much hard work with SATs tests.
We are also keen to encourage more girls and women to play cricket and have recently held two very successfully Women's Soft Ball Cricket Festivals.
The cricket was at times competitive, sometimes relaxed, but always worth a watch and the Prosecco certainly flowed! The festivals offered an accessible form of the game and was open to women of all levels and abilities.
