FlyPlymouth is developing a credible plan to reopen Plymouth Airport and we need your help.
FlyPlymouth has been working to develop a credible plan for the future of Plymouth City Airport. This plan will see a sustainable airport opened which connects Plymouth to the UK Capital.
FlyPlymouth is a social enterprise and so all monies received will be invested into the pre-revenue work to make the the plan to reopen the airport become a reality.
Over the next two years, FlyPlymouth needs to raise £150,000. Much of this will come from partners and local businesses, however we need some initial funds to get started.
We need to raise the first phase of funds to start to engage the experts and begin the first part of the work....Can you help?
FLYPLYMOUTH has developed a plan to reopen Plymouth airport, reintroducing aviation services and air passenger services that is stepped and incrementally profitable at each stage. We believe that this objective is deliverable in two to three years and that by working together with the City around a demonstrably credible plan supported by independent feasibility analysis Plymouth will be able to benefit from new job creation and better connectivity.
We are seeking a short operating lease on the airport, not the freehold. This will allow us to have the airport recommissioned and operational with the introduction of fixed base operators (FBOs) as well as servicing air ambulances, MOD aircraft, Search and Rescue, Police, charter aircraft, air taxis and General Aviation users. At this stage, the airport will be profitable and stable.
Once this stage is achieved, FLYPLYMOUTH will create a new base airline to serve Plymouth’s captive proven passenger base. Twice daily services will fly to destinations including London, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Belfast and Dublin. Each of these destinations has been selected based on current passenger demand modelling and will be profitable based on conservative assumptions.
This Crowdfunder is to raise funds to engage aviation experts and professional advisors to validate the plan so that it can be put forward to stakeholders and funders, following which FlyPlymouth will implement the plan.
