For the first time in our history we have secured our qualification to represent England at the 2026 European Brass Band Championships in Linz, Austria.
2024 has been a historic year for the Flowers Band and has seen our biggest contesting successes to date. In March 2024 we were crowned West of England Regional Champions followed by victory at the French Open in June.
September saw us take 2nd place at The British Open, only being bested by Brass Band Treize Etoiles of Switzerland, the Number 1 Ranked band in the world and the Double European Champions. This was our highest ever result at one of the 'Major' brass band contests and we were so unbelievably proud of this achievement. As the highest placed English band at the event, this saw us qualify to represent England at the 2026 European Championships.
Following this, the band were absolutely thrilled to win the title of National Champions of Great Britain following a victory at The Royal Albert Hall.
Appearing at the European Championships comes with lots of additional costs. From travel and logistics for 30 players and all of our uniforms and instruments, to rehearsal venue costs, to the entry fee to appear and much more, it presents a big fundraising challenge.
As a registered charity which receives no public funding, we need your support to help us represent our home of Gloucester, The West of England region, and all of England at The European Championships. Whilst we will be proactively applying to Trusts and Foundations and making approaches to potential corporate sponsors, individual donations will be an essential part of our fundraising strategy.
Any donation, no matter the size, will make a genuine difference to us.
Please note that although the project has an end date of 12 weeks due to the requirements of Crowdfunder as a platform, giving via this platform will be possible up until April 2026.
