Further floodlighting for the training pitches to increase the training area
Who are we?
Founded in 1875, Long Buckby RFC are one of the oldest rugby clubs in the country and probably the oldest village rugby club in the country.
The club is a large part of the community, with players from all ages with minis, juniors, seniors, veterans and touch rugby sections.

Why are we crowdfunding?
The training pitches require further floodlighting due to an increase in the number of players and 3 of the 8 current tower light generators now being beyond economical repair.
The pitches are used for mid week training by a very active and growing Minis and Juniors section. It is also used by the Touch Rugby section, which caters for male and female players plus all ages. Touch is also a thriving and growing section.
As a result, the club needs a larger floodlit area for midweek training sessions.
How we’ll spend the money raised
The money raised will be used to buy 4 tower light generators to replace the 3 that are beyond economical repair and an additional tower light
How you can help reach our target?
The target is £10,800.
The good news is that Sport England have pledged £5400, however for the pledge to be paid, the following criteria needs to be met
- Donations from at least 25 different people
- we need to raise £5400 ourselves
