We want to extend our opening time so we can offer soup at lunchtime to our members, the funding would cover hall hire and food costs.
We are Fleckney Kitten Club, we run a drop in coffee morning each Thursday in our Village Hall for the more senior residents of our village. The coffee mornings are well attended and run by volunteers, we provide homemade cakes, tea coffee and good company. Fleckney Kitten Club was established over 40 years ago and we continue to grow in numbers. We are a very friendly group and new friends are always welcome. In addition to our weekly coffee morning this year we ran a day trip to Skegness, held a jubilee party and last week we had our annual Christmas Party.

It’s important to explain the wider impact of your organisation for the whole community, who does it benefit and why?
During lockdown our senior neighbours were isolated more than most, and for some Kitten Club is still their only weekly activity. It provides friendship and company to some who would otherwise not see anyone from one week to another. It also helps with their emotional and mental health as we bond and form strong friendships with their extended families.

This is where you should explain the reason you need to raise money. How is your organisation or community impacted by the cost of living crisis?
We are hoping during the winter months to be able to open for longer to provide a warm space and soup and a roll to our members, we have limited funds, hall hire is our biggest cost and crowdfunding would help us to meet this expense to allow us to provide this additional service to our members.

It’s important to be transparent about how you plan to spend the money you raise. Your audience will be more likely to make a pledge if they can see how their donation will help.
Any money received will be spent directly on room hire and also if enough is raised on food and drink.
