We need your help for legal support to fight and defeat Flamingo Land's appeal!
by Scottish Greens in Alexandria, West Dunbartonshire Council, United Kingdom
Last year we won our campaign against Flamingo Land’s daft plans for a massive tourist resort on the banks of Loch Lomond - Over 155,000 of us objected and the National Park’s board voted unanimously to reject their mega-resort proposal – but Flamingo Land are now trying to have that decision overturned on appeal.
It will be considered by a Scottish Government Reporter over the coming weeks. They will look at the developer’s appeal, the National Park’s reasons for rejecting the initial application, all of the objections previously lodged and any responses from objectors to the appeal letter.
Give what you can today to help us obtain all of the legal advice and support we need to win one last time!
I am again working with Ian Cowan, the environmental law expert whose support was critical to our success at all previous stages, to submit a detailed response to Flamingo Land’s appeal letter.
There are literally thousands of pages of documentation, so this is a massive job. We have persuaded the Report to extend the deadline for submissions to 7th February.
Flamingo Land wanted to build 127 woodland lodges, two hotels, over 370 parking spaces, a water park, monorail and much more, despite the fact it will break flooding policy, be a disaster for the natural environment and result in hundreds of addition car journeys per hour during a climate emergency. We must stop their last ditch attempt to force through these destructive plans.
Thanks again for your support,
Ross Greer MSP
PS: If money is left after our various costs have been covered, it will be donated to community groups in Balloch.
Please note: if you are kind enough to donate more than £50 to this campaign we’ll need to check your name and address against the electoral register to ensure you are a permissible donor.

This project aims to raise funds to resolve a claim, or other type of dispute. Neither Crowdfunder nor the Project Owner can guarantee the outcome of that dispute, or that it will be resolved at all. Due to the uncertain nature of disputes, it is not possible for the Project Owner to be sure that the amount it raises will be enough to resolve the dispute or to see it through to its conclusion. If the desired outcome of the dispute is achieved in the first instance, it may be subject to appeal and may be overturned.
