Aim: We're raising money for Practical Action in Sudan - donate and you could win tickets to Shambala 2025... or Shambala 2026!
This year, we’re raising funds for Practical Action and the work they are doing to radically improve the lives of people on the frontlines of poverty and climate change in Sudan.
For every donation received, Shambala will fly a string of prayer flags from the Solasta Stage, creating a beautiful symbol of our love and support all festival long.
If you donate £5 or more before midnight on the Thursday 7th August 2025, you’ll be entered into a prize draw to win TWO GENERAL ENTRY TICKETS TO SHAMBALA 2025. We’ll contact the winner by email on 8th August 2025. Already got your tickets for this year? Donate anyway, because it's a wonderful cause, and if you win, you can be a total legend and give them to a friend or family member.
If you donate £5 or more between midnight on Thursday 7th August and midnight on Wednesday 17th September, you’ll be entered into a prize draw to win TWO TICKETS TO SHAMBALA 2026. We’ll contact the winner by email on September 18th 2025!
Shambala Festival will cover all the costs of buying, transporting and flying the flags – as well as donating £1,000 to the campaign.
Practical Action is an international development charity. They work alongside local people to build sustainable, long-term solutions in Sudan and in other places around the world affected by poverty and climate change.
For almost sixty years, Practical Action has stood with people facing the world’s toughest challenges. Unlike short-term aid that quickly runs out, their projects mean people can access tools and skills that keep working long into the future.
Sudan is facing one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world - but you probably haven’t seen much about it on the news.
Since April 2023, millions of people have been caught in a brutal civil war. More than ten million have been forced from their homes. Over half the population is going hungry. And the climate crisis - bringing droughts and unpredictable rains - is making things even tougher.
Practical Action’s dedicated team is on the ground in Darfur, Kassala, and Blue Nile, putting to work solutions that solve immediate problems and lay foundations for the future.
“Before, I couldn’t grow enough to feed my family. Now, I’ve planted trees to protect the soil, I have solar irrigation and more knowledge about farming. I can grow enough for us all to eat with extra to sell. I use the money to pay for school and healthcare for my family.” - Suliman Hamen Abull, a Farmer in North Darfur
But now, Practical Action’s work is under threat. The US government recently slashed its international aid budget by 83%. The UK government has made similar cuts. These political choices overlook human suffering and have put their vital projects at risk. But Practical Action refuses to turn away from the people who need them most.
The combination of climate change, civil war, politics and poverty can leave us all feeling helpless, but this is a chance to do something positive.
Your support sends a powerful message: people facing poverty are not forgotten. It means Practical Action can continue their essential work - delivering materials through conflict zones, adapting projects quickly to changing conditions, and staying resilient despite setbacks.
At Shambala, we’re proud to share Practical Action’s vision of practical, creative solutions that challenge the status quo, tackle hunger and support gender equality.
With your help, they can install more solar-powered water systems, train more farmers and plant more trees to prevent desertification. Even if the world looks away, together we can ensure this life-changing work continues.
