Lesley McShea has been a professional potter for over 25 years but her passion for the craft spans a lifetime. Lesley's studio is located in Stoke Newington's Church Street Studios. In addition to creating wares sold in local shops like Know and Love, Lesley also hosts classes in her studios for the local community. Her work often includes fixtures of the local community like charms and mugs depicting the animals of Abney Park Cemetery where she volunteers her time.
Why we're fundraising
In early July, Lesley was forced to put her passion on hold after a fire caused damage to her studio located on Church Street. The fire and smoke damage has seen the loss of valuable equipment and has also put her ability to make new work on pause. In addition to this, the classes Lesley holds for local potters have also had to be put on pause indefinitely.
How you can help
Your donations will help Lesley to replace expensive equipment like a kiln and clay pugmill and repair the fire damage to the studio. Any extra funds will be used to replace tools and help Lesley through this period where she will not be able to see income from new commissions or classes.
