Aim
Our aim is to continue to provide a service for families with preschoolers who can come and access a free play space in a warm space.
Who are we?
Finleys Families CIC have been working at a local Community Larder since September 2022. We set up every week with a few play area, rotating different toys, themes and activities. We are now launching our second warm space play area on Tuesdays in Bamber Bridge!
Community impact
We have a regular community of parents, grandparents and carers who now attend our sessions. Some of our community were incredibly lonely and isolated before they found Finleys Families.
We know that our sessions have helped create friendships, both with adults and children, and the babies and children are all growing in confidence and abilities!
With our second warm space sessions beginning we know that we have the potential to widen our reach and bring more families in to our Finley's Families community.
Why are we crowdfunding?
We do not charge for anyone to attend our sessions; they are and always will be free of charge for all! However, we do have continuing costs; replacement toys, craft supplies and activities for example. We would also like the opportunity to offer our adults something to eat at our new Tuesday sessions, so any money raised in this crowdfunder will help us provide a hot brunch to our warm space attendees. This is particularly important for breastfeeding mums, who may otherwise not have a meal.
How we’ll spend the money raised
Any money raised will help us continue to offer our free play sessions to all families, regardless of financial circumstances.
It is our passion to ensure that all families who come to us feel supported and that they have something to look forward to when coming to us.
We would like to spend any crowdfunding on providing a hot brunch (bacon/sausage barm or similar), so together with their brew from the community cafe, we know that they have had a hot meal and some time in a warm space, allowing them to switch off from outside contributing stresses.
Funds will also be spent on bringing new toys and craft activities to the group.
