Right! We’re opening a bakery.
We’ve been serving coffee, cakes and great food from our home in NE London for over ten years, and making great friends along the way. But we can’t sit still! We’re obsessed with making everything from scratch - so it was only a matter of time before we started fiddling about with sourdough starters and lamination. Bringing bread and viennoisserie in house is our next adventure, and we’d love to have you along for the ride.
For this incredibly exciting project we need some dough 🥁. Bakery kit ain’t cheap, so we are looking to raise £50,000 towards the project.
Our Story
We are Fink’s, a neighbourhood café and community staple since 2014.
Mat and Jess first opened the doors on Mountgrove Road, serving coffee, cakes, and great food to locals who quickly became friends. Over the years, we’ve grown, with three additional sites part of the Fink’s family.
Now, we’re ready to take the next big step: massively expanding our bakery. We’ll be baking our own bread and pastries, bringing the heart of our menu even closer to home.
What are we making?
Right now, everything we make comes from two small prep kitchens. Our original kitchen at Mountgrove Road was bursting at the seams, so last year we expanded to a second space on Blackstock Road, where Adriann and the team have been creating all our cakes and sweets in the basement kitchen.
Our next big step? Transforming the ground floor of the space into a full-scale bakery. This will allow us to add freshly baked bread and viennoiserie to our offering.
We'll be making all our bread for our sites in house, and delivering daily by bike. And we'll also be opening the doors each morning for fresh bread and pastries at the Blackstock Road site. A proper old school bakery.
We’re thrilled to have Adam Morley, our Head of Bread and chief Dough Boy, leading the charge. Behind the scenes, we’ve been running secret butter trials, flour experiments, and chocolate taste tests. It’s been a delicious journey, and we can’t wait to share the results with you. All we need is some big bits of kit! From £10k mixers to £20k ovens, they ain't cheap! So we need your help...

We've been beavering away in the background, but now we want you to be a part of it. You’re the reason we do what we do.

Here’s the deal: You grab a reward now, we use the money to buy the big stuff, and then we all get to enjoy the results and roll around together in a pile of bread and croissants.
Why it matters
At Fink’s, we make almost everything from scratch. For the few things we don’t make ourselves, we’re super picky about where we get them, working with suppliers who care as much as we do. But what could be better than making our bread and viennoisserie ourselves? We’re excited to showcase the incredible talent of our team and produce locally made, freshly baked goods - on your doorstep.
This isn’t just about upgrading our kitchen—it’s about making the best stuff we can, right here in the neighbourhood. Fresh, local, excellent, and delivered by us to all our sites daily by bike.
