Aim: We need a little bit of help to find the stories of 1920s Braunston
We are looking for small donations - we know times are hard. £3 or £5 or £10 if you're feeling very generous.
The Braunston community theatre project has a generous grant from the Arts Council.. but part of the deal is that we contribute some match funding - at least 10% of the budget – This will come mostly from tickets and donations but…
One bit of the work that we have said we’ll find the money for locally are the subscriptions to FindMyPast for the 1921 census records and the online British newspaper archives. We need these to research the stories to provide the material to tell the stories of Braunston in the 1920s
Originally we thought we would need to raise around £375 because each household 1921 record had to be purchased separately but now a full year’s subscription to Findmy past includes as many records as we want to access. So we’ve already made a start.
But we do need the other £250.
We know how tough things are at the moment so please just chip in what you can – it can be as little as £2 or £3. Not that we won’t be delighted if it’s more if you manage it.
Everyone who makes a donation will be welcome to come along to one of our research sessions where we’ll help you look up your house, street, bit of the village… whatever you are interested in. And if joining us in person is difficult for any reason we’ll try and find a way to help.
