Aim

Marking 10 years of Fat Macy’s by empowering people to take control of their finances and build a stable future beyond hostels.

Celebrating 10 Years and Building the Next 10

In 2026, Fat Macy’s turns 10. Over the past decade, we’ve supported people living in temporary accommodation to build confidence, secure work and move into stable homes.

So far, Fat Macy’s trainees have completed over 11,500 hours of training and work experience and we’ve awarded over £50,000 in grants to support trainees into secure employment and housing. 92% of our graduates have stayed in stable homes for at least one year, and 83% of graduates are in education, training or employment.

But reaching employment is only part of the journey. To sustain work and housing, people need financial confidence. Understanding income, navigating benefits, managing bills and planning ahead are essential skills when moving from hostel to home.

With changes to in-work benefits creating new opportunities this autumn, the moment is right. Through this crowdfunder, we will strengthen financial wellbeing alongside employability, empowering trainees and graduates to take control of their finances, build stable futures and maintain independence long-term.

As we celebrate 10 years, we’re investing in the future of Fat Macy’s, ensuring the next decade is defined not just by moving on, but by moving forward with confidence, stability and control.

What Your Donation Funds

Your support helps people move from hostels into work and independent living with confidence:

  • £10 could cover travel to a job interview, training day or support session
  • £25 could fund a one-to-one support session, covering financial wellbeing, employability or tenancy readiness
  • £100 could provide work essentials such as clothing or ID, removing barriers to employment
  • £150 could fund six months of post-move check-ins to support graduates setting up bills and managing a new home
  • £250 could fund a group workshop for 10 people focused on payslips, benefits and in-work income

Every contribution helps people build the confidence, skills and autonomy needed to secure work, sustain employment and move from hostel to home.
