Aim

Enabling older people to manage their finances independently by upskilling them in digital and computer skills.

Why is this project important?

Most support services and money is most easily accessed online. In some instances, older people are having to travel far and wide to physical banks and their branch has closed and moved online.

How will this project work?

By upskilling older people in digital skills we aim to enable them the financial independence they deserve. This will also improve their confidence in accessing other support services such as the NHS patient portal and general wellbeing services.

Other benefits of this project

Another important aspect of this project is the social element. Most older people may not have much physical (or online) contact with another human. This project will be bringing together individuals to not only learn how to use digital devices and the internet but to build relationships which increase positive well-being.
