Recruit volunteers to help with improving our clients money management through mentoring and personalised practical advice and support.
With increased demand for money advice, we will recruit & train 6 volunteers in budgeting coaching skills to provide an ongoing support and mentoring service following people’s engagement with our advice or training. We will provide free, confidential & impartial advice to the most vulnerable in our society, those who are homeless & those threatened with homelessness, who approach us for help and guidance. Funds towards volunteer recruitment, training, expenses, support & supervision.
Our project will provide vital, ongoing support, helping to ensure people use the skills and knowledge learnt, from either their engagement with our advice service or attending money training (including Savvy Spending, Help with Bills, Savings, Credit & Loans), hence not slipping back into previous money management problems. Guidance will help beneficiaries develop and achieve their aspirations.
We will ensure that beneficiaries have the time to develop the knowledge and experience gained through their work with CHAT, to put ideas into practice. Ongoing individual support will help to prevent future problems/issues arising as well as improving general health and well-being, overall feeling less stressed about money.
We will use the money to recruit, train (through Community Money Advice, certified, quality training) and support expense costs of the new volunteers. Some money will contribute to the staff time needed to make the project happen, supporting, guiding and supervising the volunteers. A small budget towards marketing and publicity.
