Aim

We want to turn our sparse outdoor space into a sheltered & lush Covid-safe garden so more of our community can use it, whatever the weather

WHAT WE’RE DOING

The support and positivity we have received over the last 12 months has been incredible and has made all the difference in getting us through these tough times but we now need your help to secure our future and realise the next part of the Filly Brook story.

Our original plans included working on the garden so you could all enjoy it in time for summer 2020 but for us, like many other businesses, events meant that everything went on hold so we could survive.

Now outdoor seating is even more important than ever, we want to turn our blank canvas into a green and sheltered oasis that will be Covid-safe and useable year round, whatever the weather.

Take a look at the rather exciting vision for the garden design drawn up by our expert in the field and Leytonstone local, Sam Breed Landscapes.

HELP OUT - AND HAVE A ROUND ON US

Donate any amount to our project, and we’ll offer you 25% extra credit on top of your pledge to spend in the bar when we reopen. It's a round or three on us to say thank you for the support.

Alternatively (or even in addition - get it all!) we’ve also got an exciting range of limited edition rewards available to purchase, including prints by our mural artist Lucy McLauchlan, a collaboration with the Claremont 56 record label on some tote bags and t-shirts, the now essential Filly Brook branded Teku beer/wine glass plus some private beer or wine tasting sessions for you and your friends at Filly Brook. Check out the pictures below.

So, by paying it forward, you’ll be helping us to make our new garden a reality – while treating yourself and your friends to some (much needed!) post-lockdown drinks and other goodies.

Sound good? We hope so...every donation really does count, no matter how small or large, so with summer on its way and better times on the horizon, let's really make 2021 count!

A BIT OF HISTORY

Filly Brook opened in early 2020 but it actually started life back in 2015 when two brothers and a friend took over an empty but very small shop next to Leytonstone tube station as a two month pop-up so we could do what we loved. Our concept was simple; good beer, wine, music and coffee and everybody was welcome – it still holds true today.

It was a success and when the opportunity to take over Drill Hall (as our building is historically known) came up we knew this could be the new home for Filly Brook. A space where we could expand our ideas to include more of what we loved. The building even sits just a few yards from the inspiration for our name – Leytonstone’s hidden river, the Filly/Philley/Fille Brook.

After a major renovation of the venue, we finally opened our doors in late February 2020 – and just three weeks later, lockdown hit and we’ve spent much of last year shuttered with the rest of our plans on hold.

We have weathered the hospitality storm so far but we have a lot to catch up on and with summer coming we desperately need our outdoor space to be as enticing as it is operational!
