Aim

We fight hunger and food waste in West Norwood, supporting all families, including minorities. Donations help us buy food & cover transport.

Every week, people come to Community Concern Ark feeling scared, embarrassed, or simply exhausted from trying to make ends meet. Some haven’t eaten properly in days. Some parents skip meals so their children can eat. Some elderly neighbours sit alone at home with empty cupboards, unsure who to turn to.

When they walk through our doors in West Norwood, they find warmth, dignity, and hope. We greet every person with kindness, because we know how hard it is to ask for help. No one should feel ashamed for needing food.

We rescue surplus food that would otherwise be thrown away, turning waste into nourishment. But supermarket donations don’t always arrive — and minority families often receive nothing at all On those weeks, we have to buy food ourselves just to make sure no one is turned away hungry.

We also pay for transport to collect food and deliver parcels to people who cannot reach us. Every journey matters. Every bag of food makes a difference.
