To provide emergency power through generators and batteries for Ukrainian civilians facing blackouts.

🔦Fight for Light – Powering Hope in Ukraine

Fight for Light is a student-led fundraising initiative created by a group of Business Management students at the University of Westminster, in collaboration with British Ukrainian Aid, a UK-registered charity providing humanitarian support to Ukraine.

As students — and for some of us, as Ukrainians — we are deeply aware of the ongoing humanitarian crisis caused by attacks on energy infrastructure. In many regions of Ukraine, winter temperatures can drop to –20°C, while families face prolonged power outages, leaving homes without heating, light, or the ability to cook. In the summer, the temperature rise up to 40°C, making it hard to survive without power in Ukrainian houses and hospitals.

❄️Why This Matters

1770723727_1770723728173.png

Electricity is not just about comfort — it is about survival.

1770724486_1770724486805.pngWithout power, people cannot heat their homes, charge phones to stay connected, or power essential medical and household equipment. Generators and large energy batteries can make a life-saving difference for families, shelters, and community spaces during blackouts.

🎯Our Aim

Our goal is to raise £3,000 to fund:

  • 1 × 3–5 kW petrol generator (approximately £500–£700)
  • 2 × 1 kWh battery power stations (approximately £900 each)

This equipment will be deployed in a community shelter or shared space in Ukraine, where it can provide essential electricity during blackouts.

Together, this setup can support:

  • Lighting and heating in emergency shelter spaces
  • Charging access for 30–50 devices per day
  • Refrigeration for essential supplies
  • Power for small medical or critical equipment

When used in a community setting, this equipment could support 50–100 people per day, helping families stay warm, connected, and safe during prolonged power outages.

All funds raised will go directly to British Ukrainian Aid, who will oversee procurement and delivery through their trusted humanitarian networks.

🤝Who We Are & How We’ll Help

We are a supervised student team at the University of Westminster working on a real-world entrepreneurial and social impact project. As part of this initiative, we will:

  • run this Crowdfunder campaign with permission and guidance from British Ukrainian Aid,
  • promote the campaign through social media, university networks, and awareness activities,
  • actively support fundraising efforts to maximise reach and impact.
  • launch a real-life event showing the situation in Ukraine and selling tradtional Ukrainian bakery products for donations to the campaign.

All funds raised through this page will go towards supporting humanitarian energy solutions via British Ukrainian Aid.

💙How You Can Make a Difference
