Help us bring Ladywell Fields Cafe back to life! Great coffee, proper food and a space for the whole community to enjoy!
What We’re Planning
We’ve been awarded the contract to run the cafe in Ladywell Fields for the next five years, and we want to bring it back as something the whole community can enjoy!
Fields will be a welcoming park cafe serving great coffee, good cakes and proper food for everyone who spends time in the park.
You can look forward to fresh coffee, bacon rolls and pastries for early risers, for lunch expect simple and satisfying food...toasted sandwiches, seasonal specials and homemade dishes that feel right for a day outdoors.
As the seasons change, the café will change with them...
Winter will be all about hot chocolate after a cold walk, warming soups and jacket potatoes.
In summer, it's ice creams all day and weekend food traders bringing extra energy to the park. Think pizza in the courtyard, tacos, crêpes and other pop-ups that make it feel lively and social.
In short, everything you want from a great park cafe, done with the same care and quality we’ve brought to Oscar’s, Plenty and Wilson’s
Fields will be open seven days a week and, importantly, the park toilets will be open again too. Not glamorous, but something we know has really been missed.
Why We Need Your Help
We want Fields to feel like it truly belongs in the park. Not just somewhere to grab a takeaway coffee, but somewhere people want to spend time all year round.
Right now, the building needs a lot of work to get it there...
Inside, we need to refurbish the space so it feels bright, welcoming and ready for everyday use. We also need to install a coffee machine and some new kitchen equipment to deliver the quality you would expect.
One of the biggest improvements we want to make is outside in the courtyard...time and again, people tell us that they want somewhere sheltered to sit when the weather turns. Somewhere you can still enjoy the park, even on a grey afternoon.
So a key part of our plan is a covered courtyard to the side of the cafe
We want to install a covering to create year-round outdoor seating, along with landscaping and lighting to make it comfortable and inviting. This new courtyard space will also allow us to host weekend food traders and small events, bringing even more life to the park.
We need your help to do this properly; not just to reopen the cafe, but to make Fields a space the whole community can enjoy all year round!
What we're contributing...
We’re investing as much as we can ourselves to make this happen...
We’re spending £35,000 on the coffee setup and all the kitchen equipment to get us up and running
We’re also putting in £15,000 of our own cash to take care of the essentials and cover the cash flow requirements of opening a new business
What we need...
With your help we’re hoping to raise a further £15,000 to help us finish the job and bring the cafe back properly for summer 2026!
