To bring a little happiness to people over the festive period to people who are struggling financially.
For the past four years, our Food Pantry has been at the heart of our community, supporting over 400 households every week across three open days. We are fully volunteer-led, with no paid staff, and we are proud that our team is made up entirely of dedicated local people who want to give back. We even have a waiting list of people keen to volunteer, showing how strong the spirit of community is around our project.
We know our services make a real difference. Families on low incomes, people on zero-hour contracts, older residents, those with long-term health conditions, refugees, asylum seekers, and anyone struggling to balance food and bills all turn to us for support. In addition to access to low-cost healthy food, we offer budgeting sessions, help to reduce social isolation, and create a sense of community belonging. Our Vision
Our vision
is simple: to ensure that no one in our community faces hardship alone, and that families can enjoy dignity, health, and togetherness – especially at Christmas, which can be the hardest time of year for many.
This festive season, we want to build on our four years of experience to meet the increased demand we know is coming. Specifically, we want to provide festive hampers – tailored to each household size – containing everything needed for a full festive meal and essential extras. We aim to provide hampers to around 220–250 families, to be distributed on the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th of December at our Food Pantry.
How We’ll Use the Funding
The money raised will go directly towards:
We complement this with donations from local businesses, who run food drives for festive treats throughout December. This initiative is growing every year, gaining momentum with local media and on social media, and it helps us stretch every pound further.
Impact
With your support, we will not only provide food but also:
Relieve pressure on families at a financially challenging time.
Your funding will directly help us turn a difficult season into one of joy, dignity, and community for hundreds of families.
