Aim

Five friends are cycling 400km across Morocco from Fes to Tangier, carrying everything they need, to raise money for the Rainbow Fund South

Five friends. Four days in the saddle. Around 400km across Morocco. One very worthwhile cause.

This November, five of us – Tom, Guy, Rob, Stephen and myself – are taking on a self-supported cycling challenge from Fes to Tangier, raising money for the Rainbow Fund for South Africa.

We’ll travel to Fes and then set off on our bikes, aiming to cover around 400km over four days before reaching Tangier.

There’s no support vehicle following us and no one transporting our luggage. We’ll carry everything we need on our bikes, travelling from one simple overnight stop to the next and averaging roughly 100km a day.

We’re expecting long days, tired legs, some challenging terrain and probably a few wrong turns along the way!

But there is a very good reason for doing it.

The Rainbow Fund for South Africa supports a homework school for around 200 children in Guguletu Township, near Cape Town, providing a safe and caring environment where children can study, receive additional educational support and develop skills for their future.

The school has grown from just 20 pupils to around 200, with a teaching team that has grown from one teacher to nine. The Fund also supports practical skills programmes and contributes towards meals, computers, books and the running of the centre.

Perhaps most importantly, the Rainbow Fund is run entirely by volunteers and states that 100% of the funds it raises go directly to the school.

Our target is £2500

Every donation, large or small, will give us another reason to keep pedalling when the legs start complaining.

Thank you for supporting us — and the children of the Rainbow Fund.
