Fentro: Helping Build The Future For Young People

Aim

Help young people discover their strengths, build confidence and access life-changing experiences, opportunities and connections.

Every young person has a spark. Sometimes they just need the right environment to find it.

Across our communities, there are young people with creativity, ideas, skills, and potential who are unsure what comes next.

Some do not fit traditional routes. Some have lost confidence. Some simply have not had access to the networks, experiences, or opportunities that help them see what they are capable of.

Fentro exists to change that.

What we are creating

We are raising funds to launch Fentro Futures: Finding Your Spark — a community programme designed to help young people discover their strengths, build confidence and explore their future.

Young people will take part in a journey that combines:

⭐ Confidence building and discovering their strengths
⭐ Digital, creative, and future skills
⭐ Enterprise activities and problem solving
⭐ Mentoring and connections with local businesses
⭐ Real experiences beyond the classroom

But Fentro does not stop there.

Discovery Days: Opening doors

Sometimes you cannot aspire to something you have never seen.

Discovery Days will connect young people with the amazing opportunities already around them — from creative spaces, technology and businesses to animal centres, music studios, theatre, sport, nature and community projects.

We want young people to experience different environments, meet inspiring people, and discover possibilities they may never have considered.

Fentro Voice: Changing the story

Young people are often spoken about. We want them to be part of the conversation.

Fentro Voice will become a youth-led platform and magazine created with young people, showcasing their talents, stories, ideas, and creativity.

It will celebrate the next generation and highlight the incredible potential we have within our communities.

Over time, we want these voices and experiences to help organisations and decision-makers better understand what young people need.

Money raised will help fund:

• Discovery Days and experiences
• Creative workshops and studio sessions
• Fentro Voice magazine production and distribution
• Travel and accessibility support
• Resources and opportunities for young people

This is about more than preparing young people for work.

It is about helping young people realise they have something valuable to offer, and helping our community see it too.
