Fell Line are crowdfunding to complete their debut album!
After first meeting in 2017, we came together to form Fell Line in 2023, with the goal of taking part in the Battle of the Folk Bands competition at Celtic Connections, which we later won.

Our prize was a day of recording at GloWorm Studios in Glasgow, where, in October 2024, we set out to record as much music as possible towards our debut album. In only a day, we recorded 5 tracks, three of which would be released as singles in early 2025.
Since then, we have been focussing on performing and touring, and we have appeared at festivals like Celtic Connections, Scots Fiddle Festival, Stonehaven Folk Festival, and Ceòl Cholasa. In February 2026, we embarked on a 5-week tour of Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, and Lichtenstein with the Young Scots Trad Awards Winners Tour.
After this vital period of performing and growing our audience, we feel it is the right time to return to the studio and complete our debut album - but we need your help!
Making an album is a long process, and between the first take in the studio, to the CD making it into your hands, there are a lot of costs involved. As well as funding the first phase of album recording back in 2024*, we will be investing the proceeds of merch sales from our February German tour into this stage of the project.
There are some great perks to choose from in exchange for your pledge, including signed CDs, tune booklets, your own personal tune written by us, and even a private house concert!
We would be so grateful for any support you can give to this project. Even if it's just sharing this link to a friend or on your social media, your help will go a long way in bringing our debut album to life!

* Aside from the studio time (which was paid by Hands Up for Trad as part of winning the Battle of the Folk Bands competition), the costs associated with the first phase of the album recording were: mixing and mastering; artwork for the three single releases; digital distribution of the singles; and a promotional video for the first single release

Fell Line are an award-winning Glasgow-based folk trio featuring Chloë Bryce (Michael McGovern, Lewis McLaughlin), Megan MacDonald (Eabhal, HEISK), and Calum McIlroy (BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician 2024). They blend fiddle, accordion, guitar, and their voices to present an array of intricate tunes alongside nuanced Gaelic and Scots songs.
After winning Battle of the Folk Bands at Celtic Connections 2024, they went on to appear on festival stages across Scotland and beyond, including Blas Festival, Scots Fiddle Festival, Stonehaven Folk Festival, Ceòl Cholasa and the National Celtic Festival of Australia.
The name “Fell Line,” taken from a weaving term, reflects the many interlinking parts offered by each of the three musicians. They released their debut single, Cannabeenie / Dark Days & Cauld Nichts in December 2024.
