Help Keep Fèis na Mara Wild, Warm & Wonderfully Grassroots
Fèis na Mara 2025 landed right in the eye of Storm Amy – and somehow, you lot still turned it into a weekend we’ll never forget.
Amy bulldozed her way into Arisaig, soaked our socks, rattled the windows of Astley Hall and made everything extra “character building”. And yet… you danced, you laughed, you sang your hearts out, and if you couldn’t make it, you were kind enough to accept that some things really are beyond anyone’s control. You are an absolutely mighty crowd of folk.
Why We’re Here
For the last 8 years, Fèis na Mara has been completely self-sustaining – no big corporate backers or sponsors, no bull💩 fancy VIP sections, just a wee volunteer committee, lots of glitter, a shoestring budget and the best tribe of festival-goers we could ask for.
But the reality is, in the current economy, it’s getting harder and harder to keep a small, independent festival afloat. Costs are rising across the board, and Storm Amy gave our finances a proper battering.
We still want to stay what we are: A grassroots, community festival on the West Coast - not one of those sell-out festivals where you’re paying £6 for a warm can of Tennent’s (we’ve managed to avoid that fate so far – and we’d really like to keep it that way… and no pointing fingers to other festival, obviously).
To do that, we need a wee bit of help to get back on our feet for next year.
How You Can Help
Instead of hiking bar prices or turning into something we’re not, we’re doing this the Fèis na Mara way:
On this crowdfunder you can:
Every penny goes straight back into:
About the Merch (Made Locally, Just for You)
All merch is pressed to order in-house by Mhairi at nooc.art – proper small-batch, small-business magic.
Want something specific?
Just get in touch and we’ll do our best to make it happen (additional fees may be added for customisations - in the name of charity). But because these are made to order, we can be flexible and playful with what we create. (FYI: You can also sign up to the www.nooc.art newsletter to be in with the chance of winning a framed print, or answer a very quick questionnaire to get 2 free art cards sent out to you AND be in with the chance of winning the framed print).
Thank You, Tribe 💚
Fèis na Mara has only survived – and thrived – for 8 years because of you: the folks who travel through wind, rain and hurricanes to show up, year after year.
If you’re able to grab some merch or chip in a few quid, it genuinely helps us keep this wild, warm, slightly chaotic wee festival going – without selling our souls or charging you daft money for your pint.
Here’s to calmer weather, louder tunes and seeing you back in Arisaig next year. 🌊🎶
And while we're at it, you can find out about our Xmas fundraiser gig here, we have the brilliant Church Street Shuffle and Daimh playing!
It's almost Xmas time, and in the spirit of sharing the love (& promo for small & local)... if you wanted to see what the other committee members are up to, you can head over to Eilidh Shaw & Ross Martin and Poozies for other fabulous merch items or Mallaig B&B Seaview Guest House.
We have also updated the stock on the FNM website so you can buy t-shirts from there too - buy more than 1 t-shirt and you get 10% off thereafter!
(we will be in touch to finalise your order details - FYI the heavy and childrens t-shirts have less options on sizes and colours)
