Aim

With your help, I am raising money for a charitable cause that is very important to me, Harvesting Abundance and Nurturing Nature.

I am raising money for a charitable cause that is very important to me. As a permaculture design student, I am passionate about sustainable and regenerative living that works in harmonious and a productive relationship between people and nature. Implementing these techniques aims to create climate resilient, productive and sustainable landscape that require minimal inputs and generates minimal waste.

Kijana Kwanza (Young People First) supports orphaned children and young people in Moshi, Tanzania with shelter, education and life skills training. The charity currently sponsor and feed over 150 children and young people costing £38,000/$50,000 per year.

At Kijana Kwanza, children and young people have a safe place to live, learn and grow. This includes access to healthy balanced mealsHowever, as the number of children and young people in their care increasesthe charity was struggling to meet their basic need, the cost of providing good quality, balanced meals including protein, dairy and plenty of fruit and vegetables.

They had a solution for this - their very own farm!

Kijana Kwanza recently successfully brought 7 Acre plot of land for the orphans and young people in their care. With the help of Farmer Idrissa,  this will be utilised as a farm to feed the orphans and young people with healthy nutritious food and allow the orphanage to become self-sufficient and climate resilient!

It doesn't stop there!

With the help of this fundraiser, funds raised will contribute towards an onsite permaculture-based design for the farm and the goal is to create regenerative and self-sustaining systems that meet the needs for food, water, shelter, energy, and more. At the same time, an onsite free training will take place for locals on farming techniques that are climate resilient and sustainable.

The funds we need to help achieve this goal will help with:

  •  Sustainable Landscaping and restoration
  • Waste and compost management
  • Producing Local Food
  • Serving the community and providing training and education

Join us in supporting local community and embracing the power of permaculture. This fundraiser aims to create sustainable, regenerative farming practices that enrich the land and nourish the community. Together, let's sow the seeds of a resilient food system, cultivate biodiversity, and empower farmers to thrive while caring for the Earth. Donate today and be a part of this transformative journey!
