Expanding Impact: Future Plans for "Feed a Family at Christmas" - Aspire Project: As...
This Christmas at Aspire Ryde we want to support people who are struggling with food hampers, toys and socialisation.
Aspire provides care, companionship and connections to the community of Ryde and surrounding area as a free community service.
Aspire understands the impact of the cost-of-living crisis and are looking at ways to help people cope with soaring bills and food prices over the Christmas period.
Over recent months we have realised how many difficulties some of our community members have encountered. As a result of the cost-of-living crisis many have suffered financially. Shortened working hours and redundancies have all taken their toll on families, many of whom struggled to make ends meet before Christmas arrives.
We know that we have so many vulnerable people locally. That’s why we want to develop a more sustainable option for people this Christmas. It’s a big worry that food banks are already struggling as fewer people can afford to donate to them. This year we want to support people to be more sustainable which is why along with a fresh food Christmas hamper, toys and Frozen Christmas Dinners we want to also provide information and support to help people maintain their finances and wellbeing.
How our project will support the Community in a sustainable way.
Over recent months we have realised how many difficulties some of our community members are experiencing.
This project will support households over Christmas with hampers, toys and meals as well as support and information.
Why are we crowdfunding?
We therefore require Crowdfunding funding to help purchase fresh food hampers, toys and food to prepare pre frozen Christmas dinners.
