Aim: To offer 'Fed and Nourished' (Community Food Hubs) offering affordable food, support and advice open to all, with no referral needed
Who are we?
UKHarvest is here for a simple purpose: to protect the environment by rescuing good food destined for landfill and to feed those in need, educate on nutrition, cookery skills and fighting food waste in the home.
What is our idea?
Our Fed and Nourished Community Food Hubs (CFH) follow the same ethos of The Nourish Hub – as featured in our video. They support those on a tight budget by providing affordable, healthy food, support and advice to all. Not only will this help the people of the community, but, because the food is rescued, it is good for the planet too!
How will your donation help the community?
This year the demand on our CFH's have increased by 64%. As the cost of living continues to rise, we are expecting even more people to use our CFH's. We need your support to ensure we can rescue and provide enough nutritious food and education to keep up with this demand.
We’re asking for £3108 to help keep our CFH's fully stocked with rescued food, education material and advice for the additional 480 families we’re expecting to visit our community food hubs this Autumn.
The CFH's will work closely with local organisations, charities and community groups to help attendees to connect to the long-term welfare support that is also non- food related and help the community to improve wellbeing and financial resilience.
