Who are we?
Featherstone Rovers Foundation is the official charity of Featherstone Rovers RLFC, registered Charity No. 1118452. We deliver projects and activities within the Featherstone, former 5 towns area and wider parts of the Wakefield District.
We use the power of sport and the Featherstone Rovers RLFC reputation to give the community skills to lead fulfilled, healthy and active lifestyles.
Our aim is to inspire and motivate individuals to create positive changes in their community, through delivering activities under our five focus areas :Health; Social Inclusion; Learning; Physical Activity; Heritage and Arts.
Community impact
Last year we engaged with over 26,000 people from Featherstone and wider areas of the Wakefield District. We work with a variety of people of all ages from babies who attend our parent/ toddler sessions to the older generation who attend our coffee mornings and luncheon clubs.
Why are we crowdfunding?
We are crowd funding to enable us to offer a safe, warm, space for members of the local community to access. The funding will enable us to open up the lovely community classroom, provide light refreshments such as a hot cuppa and snacks and also provide a community wellbeing officer to be on hand to support the people accessing the service. As we know the cost of living has dramatically increased and some families are struggling to heat their homes and provide for their families.
How we’ll spend the money raised
The money raised will go towards the opening of the facility (including heating/ refreshments etc) and also to enable us to have a community wellbeing officer on hand to provide support or signpost community members to access other services.
