Fat Macy's gives homeless Londoners living in temporary accommodation the opportunity to gain work experience & save for their own homes.
We're a social enterprise catering company that trains aspiring chefs to serve up food with heart, creating a recipe that helps young Londoners make the journey from hostel to home.

A roving restaurant, we provide a pathway to independent living by inviting our trainees chefs to host pop-up supper club events across the capital. Fat Macy's creates a direct pathway from hostel to home: from in-hostel training, to work experience at our supper club events.
Those who volunteer for a minimum of 200 hours are eligible to apply for a housing deposit grant to move into their own flat.
Now Fat Macy's needs a permanent home - we plan to renovate an old building to create a cafe and restaurant, complete with a professional commercial kitchen for training and events.
In 2017, we were thrilled to crowdfund £55k for a permanent home for Fat Macy's. The location is still TOP SECRET while we work behind the scenes on designs and planning.
However, now we have an incredible opportunity thanks to JCDecaux, Unltd and Crowdfunder and their See Change, Make Change campaign to get a whopping £30k of advertising and campaign support, if we can raise the first £15k. We're delighted to be part of this alongside our friends Change Please and Hopeful Traders, who are doing incredible things in the fight again homelessness.
Why are we crowdfunding again, you may ask? The success of our new venue will be hugely dependent on our ability to get the word out there and reach bigger audiences and more customers. With a £30k advertising and marketing budget, we'll give our new venue the best possible chance for success, and mean we are able to reach our targets of housing a minimum of 19 young Londoners every year.

Why it's a great idea:
Fat Macy's will bring a new, independent business to Peckham which will support the local community, create training opportunities for young Londoners living in temporary accommodation and serve up delicious food!
We will work in partnership with a range of inspiring social enterprises to showcase their work.
All of this will allow us to continue our programme and increase our support for young Londoners escaping the cycle of homelessness. Opening a permanent venue will mean we can work full time supporting Londoners living in temporary hostel accommodation. We aim to house 19 trainees a year.
We're approaching our third birthday at Fat Macy's - and we'd love to celebrate our successes so far by opening a permanent venue to see in our third birthday in style.
Since March 2016, we have:
Trained 60 young people in our in-hostel bootcamps
Worked with 20 people at Fat Macy's events
Empowered 24 trainees to gain their Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification
