Please Help Us support Care Home Workers by donating what you can to this very worthwhile and urgent cause to be a part of our ‘Win Win Win for all’ ethos.
Our Care Home Workers desperately need more support and Care Homes are in crisis - it's no surprise as it's been all over the news. The sun is shining right now, but we know Covid is still around and our Care Home Workers will be facing another winter soon.. and who knows what stress that will bring.
FAST wants to, needs to and is able to effectively help…….with a bit of help from you!!
Over the last two years of the Covid crisis, our care home workers have worked tirelessly, on minimum wage, often short staffed, being ‘family' for residents when no visitors were allowed, feeling pressured, fearful of getting the virus, passing it on, and often witnessing residents getting ill and dying. For most, it has been a very traumatic time, and that trauma is still impacting people now. Those Care Workers need help in order to clear the trauma so that they can support our elderly loved ones even better.
Think back to the last time you went through a stressful period and how much more difficult it was to do your job and keep going day in, day out. Our work at FAST reduces and manages that stress quickly and easily to get people back on track and feeling more in control. Imagine how much better that would be for the frontline workers and everyone they come in contact with. It is invaluable.
Here is Kim's story:
My nan, who will be 97 this year, is in a nursing home. She was taken there, from hospital, just before the first lockdown. It was heartbreaking not to be able to see her and I used to visit, just waving to her at the window. She would be confused (she has dementia) and beckon me in using her hands. We’d try to have conversations but she’s also deaf and not very good at wearing her hearing aid, so the staff would be my interpreter. I didn’t stay for long because I knew they were very busy. But those few minutes kept me in touch with my nan at a time I worried whether she’d recognise me at all.
FAST are aiming for - a win for the care staff; leading to a win for our elderly; and also a win for you!
To mark FAST’s two-year anniversary and so we can continue to expand our vital work, we would like to offer up to 4 free Emotional Freedom Technique sessions to 100 care workers over a 6-month period, to support them to release and resolve the stress and trauma they have experienced, so that they can provide their best care possible to our elderly loved ones. Here is where you come in….
We are inviting you all to donate whatever you can, to enable us to support those working in care homes. We can only continue with your help and our work is needed more than ever now.
Your win is to choose from our rewards - when you donate, and that fuzzy feeling of knowing you are making a real difference to some very deserving individuals.
For a £1+ reward, please do let us know in the Comments section after you donate any particular care homes you’d like us to approach.
Or to choose a £15+ reward, please nominate a care worker you know for 4 free FAST sessions (worth £240), again put this is the Comments section in Crowdfunder link or privately via [email protected]
If you’d be generous enough to go even further and share this with any others in your community either via email, social media profile/groups or on LinkedIn, that would be AWESOME!! Please share this page wherever you can!
