Raising funds for a short film, which will give hope to people living with trauma.
A magyar változathoz görgess lejjebb.
If you’re looking for a movie with deep thoughts on dealing with trauma and the relationship between people and horses, look no further.
Far From It All is a film about a young woman who is accidentally sent to work with horses. Animals she’s afraid of. She struggles with handling the horse assigned to her, only to realise that the animal was never the problem.
Get access to the script by subscribing to the film's newsletter here.

With this movie, we want to give hope to people living with trauma that they can still find happiness despite their hardships, suggesting that horses may help them attain it. We also want to spread the word about the beneficial effects of horse-assisted therapy.
We are raising seed money, 30% of the funds necessary to make the film, to apply for funding from the Hungarian National Film Institute, who will contribute 70% of the budget when we meet all the requirements of the application.

Emily, a withdrawn young woman from the UK, travels to a remote horse farm in rural Hungary in search of distance from her past and from people. Upon arrival, she discovers she has been mistakenly assigned to work with horses, animals she deeply fears.
Under the guidance of Anna, a firm but intuitive trainer, Emily is pushed into close contact with Táltos, a horse whose reactions seem to mirror her own unease.
As Emily struggles to adapt, what she’s been carrying begins to surface in ways she can’t control.
Through small, uneasy steps, she starts to engage with Táltos, but a mistake puts that fragile connection at risk.

Far From It All matters because it shows that trauma doesn't have to define the rest of your life, and that healing can begin with one unexpected connection.
The film reminds us that people carrying invisible trauma are often misunderstood, encouraging audiences to respond with compassion instead of judgment. Emily's fear and reactions are initially interpreted as weakness, but the audience gradually understands the pain behind them.
The film also shows that meaningful change doesn't always come through words or therapy alone; it can begin through a genuine connection with another living being. Emily's bond with Táltos becomes the catalyst that allows her to take the first step toward healing and eventually horse-assisted therapy.
The reason why this film is important is that it helps trauma survivors reflect on their own experiences of hardship and suggests that there is a way out of it. The film offers the hope needed to make steps towards real change in people’s lives who suffer from trauma.
The potential impact of Far From It All is to leave audiences with genuine hope. It has the opportunity to help people living with trauma feel seen, encourage greater compassion toward invisible struggles, introduce new audiences to horse-assisted therapy, and inspire viewers to believe that healing can begin with a single unexpected connection.

• There are many films about horses out there, but we haven’t seen one that uses horse therapy as the focal point of its story.
• This film is special because it deliberately avoids giving exposition to what the main character’s issue is. Not just because there’s not much time to go into details, but also because we want people to read their own story into it.
• Another way this movie stands out is that Emily, the hero, doesn’t overcome her fear but learns to coexist with it. She doesn’t get rid of her traumas, but learns to cope with them.
• It’s a short film with a character arc. Usually, a 10-minute movie doesn’t include a character undergoing a personality change, but we managed to write a script that does.

Your contribution matters because without the 30% seed money, we won’t be able to make this movie a reality, and people will miss out on a moving and thought-provoking film that could make a difference in people’s lives.
Andi Sinkovics, the writer-director, has been a filmmaker since 2009. As a director, she has always gravitated towards personal growth. She's always been interested in stories that involve some change in the character’s personality. People’s psyché has always intrigued her as long as she can remember.
Therefore, she wanted her next short film to be about a personality change in the main character. Since she's healed through horse-assisted therapy herself, she thought it could be a great subject matter for a psychological story.
The idea of making the story about a traumatised person came to her when she had to completely redraft another idea for a comedy set in the US, which fell through due to financing.
Thus, instead of a comedy, she adapted that script into a drama and changed the setting to a farm in Hungary. What felt close to her was to write about what she knew, and that was trauma, which she experienced a lot of.
This is how she wrote the film about Emily, a 25-year-old woman who travels to Hungary to escape from her life in the UK that left her traumatised.

The money we raise will go towards the production of the film, which will be shot in Hungary’s countryside.
If we want to shoot the film this year, we need the funds by the end of August.

Andi Sinkovics is a European filmmaker with Hungarian roots, born in Vojvodina. She's been creating films and videos for more than 15 years, with a strong foundation in storytelling and cinematic technique.
She studied Media, Film, and Culture Studies at the University of East London before earning a postgraduate degree at the prestigious London Film School (LFS). While at LFS, she directed several fiction short films, including Kyoto Rain, a comedy that screened at film festivals.
Since graduating, she has worked as a freelance producer, videographer, and video editor, primarily producing social media videos and creating fiction and animation shorts.

We have László Juhász’s team and one of their horses on our crew. They are highly professional and have worked on many feature films.

James Morris is a film composer from Cardiff. His recent work includes broadcast commissions for BBC and S4C, an editorial documentary for The Guardian.
George Perrin is an award-winning British-Hungarian filmmaker and colourist offering his freelance services to other filmmakers while also working as a director and cinematographer on his own projects.

We would like to secure funding for the project by involving the Hungarian National Film Institute, which requires the film to be 30% funded to consider its support.
The total budget would be about 40000 euros, and the target for the crowdfunding campaign is only 10000 euros, as Andi is putting her own savings into the project as well.

The film will be produced in English and dubbed into Hungarian, so it can also be broadcast on Hungarian television. Once completed, we intend to submit the movie to international film festivals.
Please support our film and share our campaign with others who might want to support us.
Thank you so much in advance for your help.
A Far From It All egy fiatal nőről szól, akit véletlenül lovakkal való munkára küldenek, amelyektől retteg.

Anna, a határozott, mégis intuitív lóvastréner irányításával Emily kénytelen közel kerülni Táltoshoz, egy lóhoz, akinek reakciói mintha a saját belső feszültségét tükröznék.

A Far From It All legnagyobb hatása az lehet, hogy valódi reményt ad a nézőknek.

Rendezőként mindig is a személyes fejlődés témái vonzották. Olyan történetek érdekelték, amelyekben a főszereplő belső változáson megy keresztül.
Úgy érezte, arról szeretne írni, amit igazán ismer – a traumáról, amelyet ő maga is sokszor megtapasztalt.

A befolyt összeget a film gyártására fordítjuk. A forgatás Magyarországon, vidéken fog történni.

Média-, film- és kultúratudományokat tanult a University of East London-on, majd posztgraduális diplomát szerezett a rangos London Film Schoolban (LFS).

A projekt finanszírozását a Magyar Nemzeti Filmintézet bevonásával szeretnénk megvalósítani.
A film teljes költségvetése körülbelül 40 000 euró, a közösségi finanszírozási kampány célösszege pedig 10 000 euró, mivel a rendező saját megtakarításaiból is hozzájárul a projekt megvalósításához.

A film angol nyelven készül, de szinkronizálva lesz magyarra, hogy a magyar TV-ben is bemutatásra kerülhessen. Ha elkészül a film, nemzetközi fesztiválokra fogjuk vinni.
Kérjük, támogasd filmünket, és oszd meg kampányunkat azokkal is, akik szívesen hozzájárulnának a megvalósításához.
Előre is hálásan köszönjük a segítségedet!
